Palm Springs Walk of Stars honors White Party founder

The Palm Springs Walk of Stars honored White Party founder and humanitarian Jeffrey Sanker with a star of his own.

“I am so humbled and honored. It’s pretty amazing,” said Sanker.

You’ll spot it at the corner of Arenas Road and Palm Canyon outside of Lulu California Bistro, where dozens turned out to celebrate Sanker’s charitable efforts in the LGBT community, including former Palm Springs Mayor Ron Oden and singer and actress Carmen Electra, a longtime friend of the party organizer.

“He’s one of the most important, influential people of the community. He deserves this,” said Electra.

Sanker will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the White Party this year, which draws 30,000 men from around the world to the Coachella Valley.

It’s no coincidence his star lays where it does next to his idol George Hamilton and in the LGBT heart of downtown.

“It’s here on Arenas Road where so many LGBT businesses thrive and prosper,” said Phil Lobel, White Party publicist.

Sanker announced Electra will be named the queen of this year’s 25th White Party. He’s hoping for 25 more.

“It can start off as a dream, with 300 of your friends and end up 25 years with a star on the Walk of Stars of Palm Springs,” said Sanker.
