Fire destroys mobile home in Twentynine Palms

A fire at a mobile home park in Twentynine Palms destroyed a two-story residence on Tuesday afternoon.

The blaze was reported to firefighters around 2:30 p.m. at the Singing Trees Mobile Home Park in the 74600 block of Amboy Road, according to officials.

It took the 29 Palms Fire Department about 45 minutes to extinguish the flames.

Nobody was home at the multi-unit residence during the fire. The second story floor was completely destroyed and the first story floor was heavily damaged by fire, smoke and water, officials said.

A building inspector and code enforcement officer were on scene to assess the damage of the residence, which they said has a history of building code violations.

They also said the building will be red-tagged as uninhabitable.

Fire officials said damage to the residence is estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the sheriff’s Arson/Bomb Detail.
