Teen charged with ‘sexting’ multiple girls in Big Bear

A teenager is in custody at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall, charged with sending sexually explicit pictures via text and social media to several girls ranging from 14 to 17-years-old, according to deputies with the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station.

The suspect is a 17 year old male.

Detectives began investigating the teenager on March, 17. They said 13 victims have been identified so far.

The Juvenile District Attorney’s Office has charged the suspect on multiple criminal charges. The teen was already on felony probation for unrelated charges, according to authorities.

The DA’s Office said distribution of nude photographs and sexually explicit content depicting minors is a crime.

Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the importance of immediately reporting obscene materials received via social media or text message.
