Girl rescued after falling down a ravine

Cal fire and riverside county firefighters were able to rescue an 11-year-old girl who fell 10 feet into a ravine in a remote area near Cabazon.

The location is south of I-10 and Haugen Lehman way. It was reported just before 8pm Saturday.

Helicopter crews were called in to assist ground crews trying to get to the little girl to safety.

About 10:20 Cal fire and Riverside county firefighters were ablelift her out of the ravine by way of stokes basket. A helicopter-involved hoist rescue was not needed.

The patient was taken by ambulance to an area hospital via with moderate injuries.
