Victim ID’d in DHS deadly shooting

A man killed in a shooting in Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday night has been identified.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office said the victim was 38-year-old Damon Capacchione. He was a resident of Desert Hot Springs.

On Thursday, Taireece Ross, William McCrumb and Tamara Lester were all taken into custody in connection to his murder, according to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

The shooting happened during a fight around 6:20 p.m. in front of a home in the 12700 block of Parma Drive in a neighborhood near Desert View and Miracle Hill.

Police said Cappacchione and Ross got into a fight, then Ross went to a car driven by McCrumb, and pulled out a weapon.

Multiple witnesses pinpointed Ross as the shooter.

Cappacchione was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center but later died from his injuries.
