Riverside County property tax deadline is today

Today is the deadline for Riverside County homeowners to make good on the their 2013 property tax bills.

In October, the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office sent out bills seeking payments on 906,000 secured properties, including parcels, houses and condos.

The period to pay the first installment ended Dec. 10.

The second and final installment is due by 5 p.m. today. Any payments received after that will be considered delinquent and incur a 10 percent late fee, according to county officials.

Tax payments can be made online at www.riversidetaxinfo.com.

Residents can also make payments in person at tax collector’s offices in the following locations: 4080 Lemon St. in Riverside; 38-686 El Cerrito Road in Palm Desert; and 40935 County Center Drive, Suite C in Temecula.

Credit card payments can be made via the Internet, or by calling (951) 955-3900, and include a 2 percent “convenience fee.”

County officials said residents who don’t pay their taxes risk having a lien placed on their property.
