Water restored after leak on Bob Hope Drive

Water service has been restored to businesses and residents in Rancho Mirage who were affected by a water leak on Bob Hope Drive in front of Eisenhower Medical Center on Tuesday.

Service was restored around 5:30 p.m. after being out for close to an hour, according to officials with the Coachella Valley Water District. Crews were expected to be making repairs in the area until early Wednesday morning.

Only one northbound lane of Bob Hope Drive was open between Country Club Drive and Frank Sinatra Drive during the incident, causing some traffic delays.

As a precaution, the water district provided businesses and residents in the area with bottled water during the outage, officials said.

There was no immediate word on what caused the water leak.
