Yucaipa High School teacher arrested for having sex with student
A Yucaipa High School teacher has been arrested for allegedly having sex with a 16 year old student. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 deputies from the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station received information of a possible inappropriate relationship between a 16-year old male student and 44-year old Sheila Heacock, a teacher at Yucaipa High School.
On Thursday, April 17, 2014 detectives from the Crimes Against Children Detail, and personnel from the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station contacted the 16 year old male, who disclosed sexual abuse by Heacock. Investigators say the alleged abuse began in January 2014 and the last incident occurred in March 2014.
Heacock was booked at the Central Detention Center and is being held on $100,000. bail. She is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday, April, 22, 2014 in San Bernardino Superior Court.
Heacock has been employed with the Yucaipa/Calimesa School District for 18 years. She has been a Spanish teacher at Yucaipa High School for three years.
