Desert Hills Premium Outlets adding 50 new stores

More than $100 million later, the Desert Hills Premium outlets in Cabazon can finally show off its full expansion.

“In November we opened up the parking garage the size of three football field and now on Thursday we have our expansion celebration,” Liz Perkovich said.

Get ready for 50 new high end outlets.

“For the first time in north America – Alexander McQueen. Helmut Lang, Belstaff, Frette, Maxmara and many many more,” Liz Perkovich of Desert Hills Premium Outlets said.

The addition opens up the outlets to not just the usual shoppers.

“I believe we’ll be able to pull in the LA client and I think there is more men’s wear available now, too,” Robert Graham employee, Karla Alanis, said.

There will also be a Disney Outlet, and Alanis said that will create a more family-friendly atmosphere.

With this major expansion came 300 construction jobs and 400 permanent jobs for store employees – and they’re still hiring.

“Palm Springs has always been known for many years and there is more of a resurgence going on. And we tie into that. So many people like to shop and then go to Palm Springs and shop, and we look at ourselves as a major attraction to the valley,” Perkovich said.

Forty of the outlets will open this Thursday, the other 10 by the summer. For a complete list of stores coming to the outlets, visit www.premiumoutlets.com/deserthills. To find out about job openings, call the specific store you are interested in.
