Power outages reported in Palm Desert and Indian Wells

Southern California Edison was working to restore service to nearly 500 customers Tuesday morning after three power outages were reported in Palm Desert and Indian Wells.

According to Edison’s website, 306 customers lost service in Palm Desert at 8:35 p.m. Monday night because of equipment problems.

Work was in progress to restore power to those customers Tuesday morning, and all were expected to be back up by 9:00 a.m.

The SCE website also reported a power outage affecting 172 customers in Indian Wells that occurred at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday morning.

There was no word on the exact area experiencing the outage, but Edison said all service was to be restored by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews had been notified as of 6:38 a.m., but no additional information was available on the status of those crews nor the cause of this second outage.

A third outage in Indian Wells impacted 8 customers Monday evening at 7:34 p.m.

No estimate was given on when all that service would be restored, but crews had been notified of the problem and were working on the outage.
