Wind Advisories in effect for desert and mountain areas
Strong and gusty winds will cover much of inland Southern California from Tuesday morning until early Wednesday. An area of low pressure moving onshore to the north will bring the strongest winds to the mountains and deserts this afternoon and evening.
The wind could kick up sand and dust on desert roadways, which could
reduce visibility. Palm Springs was forecast to be dusty.
The wind will also make driving difficult, especially for motorists in
high profile vehicles, according to the NWS. Drivers were also advised to be on
the lookout for broken tree limbs and other debris.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 4 a.m. Wednesday for the Coachella Valley and area mountains. Gusts could top 55 mph and will likely peak late this afternoon.
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 9 p.m. for the high desert areas including Yucca Valley and Twentynine palms. Gusts will likely peak early this afternoon.
