Purchase tickets for 5th annual ‘Brew at the Zoo’

More than 50 restaurants and brewers are on tap to participate in Saturday’s fifth annual “Brew at the Zoo” at The Living Desert.

More than 2,500 people are expected to attend the event, which supports care for animals and their habitats, and scholarship programs for students. Attendees will sample craft beer, wine, specialty liquors and food from local restaurants while listening to live music and viewing animals.

New this year will be a karaoke lounge, a photo booth and games, according to the zoo.

The Living Desert Big Cat Brew, created last year with the Coachella Valley Brewing Company, will be served again this year. The beer is made with agave nectar and sage from the park.

Other participating beverage makers include Arnold Palmer Wines, Dirty Tequila, Crater Lake Vodka, Hangar 24 Craft Brewery, Karl Strauss Brewing Co., La Quinta Brewing Co. and Stone Brewing Co.

Participating restaurants include Bellatrix, Clementine, Cork & Fork, Lulu California Bistro, Sherman’s Deli & Bakery, Cliff House, Mastro’s and Wolfgang Puck.

The zoo’s catering group is sponsoring a VIP area with premium food and drink stations and private animal viewing.

The American Cab Company will provide free cab rides home to Coachella Valley cities.

Presale tickets cost $45 for members and $55 for non-members. Prices at the door will be $50 for members, $60 for non-members and $35 for designated drivers. VIP tickets are $125.

Attendees must be 21.

You can purchase tickets online.
