Early voting underway at Westfield Shopping Town this weekend

You’ll find more than just major sales at the mall this Memorial Day weekend. You’ll spot voter polls too. Early voting kicked off for the June 3 primary election in front of World Gym on the first floor of the Westfield Shopping Town.

“I’m here for one reason, just to vote,” Judith Newell, of Palm Desert.

“I wasn’t really planning on doing it I did it now, but I remembered when I saw it and said let’s do it now,” said Amanda Marrow, of Indio.

Compared to the polls on Election Day, voters said early voting was quick and convenient.

“You just come up and fill out a ballot card,” Scott Nyland, of the Riverside County Department of Public Services. “You don’t have to be a Palm Desert resident. Cat City, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs can vote, just as long as you’re in the county of Riverside.”

You can cast your vote at Westfield Shopping Town through Sunday from 10 a.m. 4 p.m.

“Vote early and vote often,” said Newell.
