Palm trees catch fire near downtown Palm Springs

Firefighters in Palm Springs responded to reports of a half dozen palm trees on fire at around 1:30 Sunday morning near the intersection of Tahquitz and Indian Canyon.

Fire crews managed to contain the flames within 15 minutes.

A neighboring business did suffer some minor damage. No injuries were reported.

Indian Canyon between Tahquitz and Andreas was closed to traffic for about two hours before being reopened.

The cause of the fires is still under investigation.
