Two hurt in hang gliding accident

Two people were injured Sunday when their hang gliders went down in the area of Wolfskill Truck Trail in San Jacinto, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 6:40 p.m., according to Melody Hendrickson of the Riverside County Fire Department.

Three male hang gliders, two who had been soaring in tandem and one who had been flying solo, were hoisted aboard a helicopter and flown from the scene, she said.

“Two patients were transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries and one refused treatment and transport,” Hendrickson said.
