3 displaced after fire ignites at Indio mobile home park

Three adults have been displaced after a fire ignited in a double-wide mobile home in Indio Thursday afternoon.

According to officials with Cal Fire, the blaze occurred just after 1 p.m. in the Arabian Gardens Mobile Home Park, located in the 81600 block of Fred Waring Drive. They said an air conditioning unit was to blame.

The fire was contained just before 1:30 p.m. Firefighters were able to limit the damage– estimated at $10,000 –to one bedroom.

Nobody was injured. The family will be staying with relatives Thursday night and animal control was requested to take care of their two kittens.
