Debris fire sparks in Sky Valley

Cal Fire and Riverside County firefighters are battling a fire involving debris and woodchips in Sky Valley Thursday afternoon.

According to officials, the fire is located near 18th Avenue and Long Canyon Road. As of 4:30 p.m., the fire has grown to about one acre.

Firefighters said winds are about 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Crews will be committed to the fire for an extended amount of time. Continue to follow News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 for updates on containment.
