Union Pacific investigates after train collides with car

CHP, Cal Fire and Indio Police were on the scene in Indio, where a train collided with a car late Wednesday night.

The crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. in the area of Indio Boulevard and Clinton Street. Police said the train was traveling eastbound.

The driver of the car was unable to make a left turn onto Indio Blvd. from Clinton Street.

One woman was transported by Riverside County Fire medicsto a local area hospital with minor to moderate injuries, according to Cal Fire.

Ben Guitron, spokesman for the Indio Police Department, said Union Pacific Railroad is handling the investigation.
