2 families displaced after fire in Desert Hot Springs

Two families are out of their homes after a structure fire ignited in Desert Hot Springs Friday afternoon.

Officials with Cal Fire said the blaze started on the 36000 block of Don English Way around 3:30 p.m. Firefighters extinguished the flames in about a half hour.

Cal Fire said it was an electrical fire but the cause is still under investigation. The American Red Cross was called to help assist one adult and two children who were displaced.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 were on scene and we’ll have more information as more details become available.
