Cabazon A&W will soon be Taco Bell

The A&W restaurant in Cabazon that recently closed down will soon become a Taco Bell, according to the Morongo Band of Mission Indians.

The root beer restaurant closed in May. It was the last remaining A&W in the Coachella Valley.

The closest A&W is now in Mentone or Orange County.

The Morongo Band of Mission Indians owns the land where the restaurant stood in Cabazon. The tribe said the majority of the employees are now working at other tribe-owned businesses.

The new Taco Bell is expected to open sometime later this year.
