Indio Rotary Club awards academic scholarships to deserving students

Four deserving Shadow Hills High School seniors were recently awarded academic scholarships from the Indio Rotary Club.

According to a release from Don Casper, public relations director for the Indio Rotary Club, the scholarships were presented at Shadow Hill’s Academic Reward Night on June 4 by Indio Rotary Club President Bruce Latta.

The students were chosen based on their academic accomplishments during their high school career along with their service and volunteerism to the community.

The Indio Rotary Club proudly announces the following students for the academic scholarships:

Francisco De La Cruz
Alondra Garcia
Rebecca Marquez
Edgar Santana

“One of our signature projects each year is awarding these types of scholarships. Shadow Hills is our adopted school in Indio and we are proud of these four quality students,” said Bruce Latta.

The money should definitely help the four recipients as they take the next step in their academic careers.

The Indio Rotary Club began in 1949 and has been helping make Indio and the world a better place. Some of the group’s service projects include the Coachella Valley Middle School Math Field Day, Dictionaries for Indio Third Graders and Scholarships for Indio Students.
