Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is hiring

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is hiring. It held a career fair Saturday at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s station to demonstrate what joining the team is all about.

Potential applicants got to speak with recruiters and current employees and attend presentations about job opportunities.

The agency hopes to staff hundreds of positions at the east county detention center in Indio, set to open by late 2016.

Most of the positions are entry-level with room for advancement and offer competitive benefits.

“We are the top Sheriff Department in the state of California. We have a variety of positions, we have wonderful people and great team work and a wonderful community that we work in,” said Riverside County Sheriff Lt. Daniel Hedge.

The department is looking to recruit 300 applicants. Deputies we spoke with say the job not only provides a great paycheck, but a sense of community and a chance to give back.
