Hiker rescued off a trail in Mt. San Jacinto State Park

A Culver City woman is safe after rescue crews helped her down a trail in Mt. San Jacinto State Park.

State parks received a brief phone call just after 4 p.m. Saturday about an injured hiker atop the mountain at Wellman’s Divide and then the call was dropped.

A rescue team quickly assembled and found her in less than an hour.

She could not make it back down on her own, so a California Highway Patrol helicopter air lifted her to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway where she was able to safely ride down the mountain.

No word on her condition.
