La Quinta man facing burglary charges

A La Quinta man is facing burglary charges after police say he broke into a home on Monday.

A deputy with the La Quinta Police Department spotted 22-year-old Jose David Gonzalez acting suspiciously, while he was patrolling the 51200 block of Avenida Valasco just after 10:00 p.m.

Authorities say Gonzalez took off running when the deputy tried to stop him. Gonzalez ran through the neighborhood, jumping into backyards.

After a search of the area, police located Gonzalez inside a residence. Deputies returned to the home where Gonzalez was initially seen and learned it was burglarized.

Gonzalez was arrested for residential burglary and booked into the Indio Jail.
