Anonymous Donor Pledges $1M to Desert Arc

Desert Arc is one of the longest running non-profits in the Coachella Valley and it will soon get the opportunity to expand.

This after a generous donor pledged to give $1M to the organization over a 5 year period.

Originally built as a garage, the ‘number 2’ building at its Palm Desert facility on Country Club, will be demolished and expanded to twice its size. This will make room for Desert Arc’s growing number of developmentally disabled clients.

“We’re kind of crowded in several of our programs. We have a waiting list for some of them. There are more people who are determined to have developmental disabilities than there used to be,” said Desert Arc’s Deputy Executive Director, Mitch Blumberg.

The generous donation will allow Desert Arc to continue to help its clients integrate into the community, earn money, and enhance the quality of their lives.

The organization provides employment skills and job opportunities to 600 adults who suffer from disabilities.
