Ten arrested in mid-Valley sweep

Ten people were arrested during a mid-Coachella Valley out-of-custody supervision compliance sweep, a sheriff’s spokesman said Friday.

Members of the Post-release Accountability and Corrections Team, which includes several local law enforcement agencies, made the arrests Thursday during checks on people under post-release community supervision and mandatory supervision in Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage and the unincorporated area of Thousand Palms, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Deputy Armando Munoz. Twenty-eight searches were conducted, he said.

Arrested were:

— Joe Valenzuela, 41, of Thousand Palms, on a felony warrant and on suspicion of resisting a peace officer;
— Diana Miranda, 51, of Palm Desert, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and violation of probation;
— Fernando Baca, 40, of Bryn Mawr, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine;
— Steven Manger, 50, of Palm Desert, for violation of probation;
— Jimi Pierson, 32, of Thousand Palms, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation;
— Richard Carrera, 46, of Palm Desert, on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation;
— James Peeler, 30, of Palm Desert, for violation of probation;
— Marc Morris, 46, of Thousand Palms, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation;
— Stephanie Granatell, 45, of Palm Desert, for violation of probation; and
— Richard Wooten, 34, on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and violation of probation.
