Desi flies to New York for life saving treatment

A large group crowded Signature Aviation at Palm Springs International Airport to wave goodbye and send off Desi Cechin.

“She excited, first time on a plane and go to this new city with tall buildings,” Desi’s mom, Laura, said.

Desi was diagnosed in April with stage 4 high-risk neuro-blastoma.

She’s been getting chemotherapy at Loma Linda University Medical Center but needs a treatment offered at Sloan-Kettering in New York.

Because of a weak immune system, Desi can’t fly commercial. STAJets donated Desi’s flight across country. Desi will be there for a month maybe longer depending on the treatment. Her surgery is August 21.

“When Desi needs to come back we will need another flight if there anyone who can help with the flight on return forever grateful,” friend Melissa Neiderman said.

The plane taxied and loved ones waved goodbye, signs held high, smiles wide, being strong for the strongest little girl they ever met.
