Flood Advisory issued for southwest Coachella Valley

Light rain began to fall in certain areas of the Coachella Valley Thursday afternoon and a Flood Advisory has been issued for the southwest Coachella Valley and the Santa Rosa Mountains.

A rapid rise of water in the washes is possible.

We’ve had viewers reporting rain in Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage and La Quinta.

On Wednesday, wet weather and lightning strikes created problems in parts of the Coachella Valley and the High Desert. Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department issues some tips to make sure you stay safe if you’re caught in inclement weather:
