Cops accused of performing background checks on girls on dating websites

Two northern California police officers are in trouble after they allegedly used company equipment and time to search for women on internet dating sites. Police say Sergeant Stephen Ruiz and Detective Jacob Glashoff found women on websites like E-harmony and Match dot com. Then, they allegedly used government databases to perform background checks on the women they liked. Court documents go on to say Sgt. Ruiz and Detective Glashoff would perform the searches and have conversations about the dating sites in front of other officers. A separate law enforcement agency is in charge of the investigation of the two Fairfield police officers. If the allegations are found to be true, the officers could face felony criminal charges.
