3.3 quake hits off Southern California coast

A small, magnitude-3.3 earthquake has struck off the coast of Southern California.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck at 7:50 p.m. and was centered about 5 miles southwest of San Pedro and 6 miles southeast of Rancho Palos Verdes.

A Los Angeles police officer in San Pedro said there have been no reports of damages.

The quake was felt in Long Beach, San Pedro and other locations in the South Bay area.
