Water line construction continues in Indio

Contractors will finish installing a water line on one of Indio’s main thoroughfares starting Monday

The work, which covers Highway 111 between Monroe and Madison streets, is expected to be finished by November 13th. Installation is being done in two sections, and the segment between Monroe and Madison is the final section, Indio city spokesman Jason Chan said.

The first section covered Highway 111 between Oasis and Jackson streets and started in July. Parts of the highway were closed during construction.

The Indio Water Authority coordinated the installation “to enhance the existing water distribution system, provide improved fire protection, and offer a more reliable water service to current and expanded businesses in the surrounding areas,” Chan said.
