Comedian Larry Storch to join Palm Springs Walk of Stars

Actor-comedian Larry Storch will receive a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars Tuesday morning. The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. at 140 N. Palm Canyon Drive.

Storch, 91, played Cpl. Randolph Agarn on 1960s television show “F Troop.” He has appeared on other TV shows on stage and in films, and has done voice-over work for cartoon shows.

Storch, a New York native, went to high school with actor-comedian Don Adams and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with actor Tony Curtis.

After his military service, a chance encounter with actor and band leader Phil Harris in Palm Springs led Storch to Los Angeles, where he opened for future “I Love Lucy” stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Storch eventually landed his own variety series, “The Larry Storch Show.”

Storch’s credits include stage productions of “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “Annie Get Your Gun”; films such as “Sex and the Single Girl”; and TV’s“Car 54, Where Are You?,” “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” “Get Smart,” “Ghost Busters,” “The Love Boat” and “Columbo”; and voice work in such
cartoons as “The Pink Panther Show,” “Scooby Doo, Where Are You?” and “Batman.”

He and his wife Norma were married more than 40 years. She died in 2003.
