New tie-dye business colors Palm Springs
Evan Brown didn’t want to start a typical business for extra cash, so he decided to mix it up.
“I went from giving them away for fun to people asking where they could buy one. There’s an idea,” Brown said.
It was a pretty colorful one tying together his two current projects-going to school to become a pilot and starting up a tie-dye business in Palm Springs, Grateful Tie Dye.
“There are a couple shops I’m talking to to get in their stores also in Joshua Tree. I’m looking to get a custom screen printer to make custom Palm Springs shirts,” he said.
In fact, everything he does is custom.
“The uniqueness is what I like and people seem to like. Normally you get a tie dye shirt printed thousands at a time. These all end different,” he said.
On his website, you pick the color, the design – all of it.
“You see it everywhere it’s a happy thing,” he said.”
Another part of Evan’s life is full of sadness.
“A big chunk of all this is for my sister she is diagnosed with a rare type of cancer. One million for Ana, they’re friends of ours , all about raising awareness for child cancer they do scholarships. 10 percent gets to them,” he said.
You can buy now on his website – but they’ll be in stores soon.
“Anyone and everyone. Causal, fun, souvenirs.”
With a twist.
