Court rescheduled for former Palm Springs Power baseball player accused of rape

A former Palm Springs Power baseball player was expected in court Friday, but the felony settlement conference for 21 year old Trent Pell was rescheduled for October 16 to give both sides more time to look over the case.

Pell is accused of raping an unconscious woman at a party in Indio. He pleaded not guilty last month to several charges — including two counts of rape.

Police say the rape happened at a house party on June 16th — and witnesses walked in on the attack.

Police also say Pell left his cell-phone at the scene.

The Palm Springs Power removed him from the team for disciplinary reasons around the same time as the alleged rape.
