Six arrested for allegedly helping minors buy booze

Six people were arrested over the weekend for allegedly helping minors buy alcohol, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Young adults acted for police, asking bystanders to buy them alcohol. If the adult agreed, he or she was immediately arrested, cited, and released.

Police say this was a county-wide sting operation, happening in Coachella, Jurupa Valley, Menifee and Perris.

Sgt. Andrew Elia says offenders can be fined $1,000 or more and be given 24 hours of community service for supplying booze to the juveniles.
