Repaving project expected to create traffic delays in Palm Desert

Road crews will be grinding down and repaving a portion of Country Club Drive in Palm Desert on Thursday and Friday.

Lanes will be closed on Country Club Drive between Cook Street and Desert Willow from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day as construction takes place. Although the project won’t cover a large area, officials said it could affect traffic at the intersection of Country Club Drive and Cook Street as repaving equipment turns around.

Delays are expected and drivers are asked to allow extra time for their commute or use alternate routes such as Fred Waring Drive or Frank Sinatra Drive.

Officials said the project is part of the City of Palm Desert’s annual paving program.
