Cat burglar nabbed in Palm Desert after using stolen credit cards

A man accused of burglarizing a home in Palm Desert Sunday morning was arrested after he used the victim’s credit cards at local businesses in the days following the burglary.

According to the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station, 28-year-old Nathan Ainsworth is accused of entering an occupied residence and stealing a purse in the early morning hours of September 21.

Ainsworth was arrested for the crime on Tuesday, September 23 after using the victim’s stolen credit cards at businesses in Palm Desert, La Quinta and Coachella.

Deputies spotted him driving near the 43000 block of Buena Circle in Palm Desert around 11 a.m. Tuesday. They pulled him over and took him into custody. They said they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia upon searching his vehicle.

Ainsworth was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio on charges of residential burglary, three counts of commercial burglary, use of stolen credit cards, possession of methamphetamine and violation of probation.
