All-Desert Wellness Centers receive Coachella Valley Spotlight grant

Laura Manley lives for her kids.

“I had to leave because I was pregnant with a second baby,” she said.

After getting married a couple years ago, her husband changed.

“It was great at first. Then he started doing drugs, and he got abusive.”

So she moved to the desert from North Dakota and she admittedly needed help.

“I needed someone to talk to. I lost my home husband family,” Manley said.

That’s when she found the All-Desert Wellness Centers.

“That hour changed my life. I had someone to put it in perspective. I didn’t feel alone,” she added.

It’s a is a 100 percent volunteer driven non-profit serving the mental health needs of the Coachella Valley. The organization offers , child, couples, seniors, and family counseling – exactly what Laura needed.

“I was nervous to go there. There is a social stigma that shouldn’t be there but I didn’t feel that stigma,” she said.

Instead, the All-Desert Wellness Centers gave her a sense of hope, guidance, and direction to start over.
