Two Palm Desert teenagers arrested for Coachella murder

Two Palm Desert teenagers were in custody Tuesday morning charged for the murder of a Coachella man, Fabian Martinez, 23.

The Riverside County Sheriffs Department said its detectives with the Central Homicide Unit arrested Carlos Jay Martinez, 19, and Noel Hernandez, 18.

Fabian Martinez was shot and killed late Sunday night along the 48600 Block of Camino Las Brisas, a neighborhood just east of Jackson Street near the new Coachella Walmart.

His family told News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 he was gunned down after he’d gotten into a fight with an ex-girlfriend.

Deputies arrested Carlos Martinez and Hernandez along Gerald Ford Drive in Palm Desert.

They were both booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio late Monday night, and remained in custody Tuesday morning in lieu of a million dollars bail.

Both were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning to face felony murder charges.
