Coachella Valley expected to get millions for drought-related projects

The Coachella Valley will see $5.2 million from the state for drought-related projects.

The money is from the California Department of Water Resources.

It’s part of approximately $221 million awarded statewide for 27 proposals.

The money will be used in meeting long-term water needs such as conservation and recycled water programs.

They reduce groundwater use and provide drought relief.

Grant money will also will help address water-related issues that impact disadvantaged communities.
