‘Black Friday’ sale at old Spa Resort Hotel in Palm Springs
On Black Friday, if you’re looking for a good bargain, you may want to head over to the old Spa Resort Hotel in Palm Springs. Everything must go before the building is razed.
“This is the largest garage sale in Palm Springs that you’re going to see,” said Frank Long, President of International Content Liquidations, and is organizing the sale. “We’re going to be selling everything formally used and operated in the hotel,” he said.
You’ll be able to find everything from light fixtures, kitchen appliances, bed sets, furniture, even nearly brand news flat screen tv’s at $300 a piece.
The public sale starts on Friday at 9 a.m. and is on a first come first serve basis. There is a $3 admission and buyers have to be able to move their own purchases out of the hotel.
Long said he started inventory 3 weeks ago on hundred of thousands of items in order to be ready this week.
“You’re talking about 230 rooms and each room has 3 lamps, 2 beds, that’s 4 box brings. Then, you go in and you’ve got thousands of pieces of linen, china, glassware, place settings that you can set up for 600 people or a thousand people,” he said.
Long also said he expects at least 1000 people to walk in that day so bring your patience, it is Black Friday after all.
“We will have 3 sales going on simultaneously inside, 3 point of sales, so that customers can purchase rapidly without too much wait,” Long said.
Don’t like the crowds? Or can’t make it? Long said no worries.
“Black Friday was a perfect day to start, and we’re going to be selling for the next 30 days or until we’re sold out, whatever comes first,” he said.
