Deadly crash affects traffic in Thermal
One person was killed in a crash at Grapefruit Boulevard and Airport Boulevard in Thermal Friday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.
Two other people were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
The crash happened around 2 p.m. Initial information from the California Highway Patrol indicates the crash involved a green Chevrolet SUV and a white Chevrolet Astro Van.
Cal Fire was called to the scene to cut and rescue victims from the vehicles.
Traffic near Grapefruit Blvd. and Airport Blvd. has been shut down while emergency crews clear the scene. Officials expect the road to be closed for several hours.
The crash victim hasn’t been identified yet.
