Surveillance video details deadly shooting in Palm Desert

The man who was shot in Palm Desert on Wednesday, December 3, died from his injuries at the hospital Friday morning, and new surveillance video is detailing the events that led to the deadly shooting.

The victim was identified Monday morning as 26-year-old Conrado Pizarro of Palm Desert.

The shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. at the Shell gas station in Palm Desert, near Washington Street and Avenue of the States.

Security cameras show Pizarro going inside the gas station to buy a beverage. Moments later, he goes out and gets into his car. Pizarro begins to exit the station, but then, it appears that he is cut off by a white SUV.

Pizarro came back around to talk to someone in the white SUV while it was parked at the gas pump. Pizarro was then shot as he still sat behind the wheel of his car.

Pizarro was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries two days later.

No suspects have been identified, but authorities are reviewing the surveillance video.

Investigators from the Palm Desert Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff Department’s Central Homicide Unit are handling the investigation.
