Free child safety fair in Palm Springs Saturday

The Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs and the Palm Springs Police Department will hold a free child safety fair at the club Saturday.

The event, which is open to the public, will include SWAT vehicle and fire engine displays, a K-9 demonstration, bicycle safety checks, games and prizes. Parents can have identification cards created for their children, and Boys & Girls Club staff will discuss topics such as safe use of the Internet.

“Safety is one of our top priorities at the club, and events like this allow us the opportunity to help educate others throughout our community,” said club board president Terry Tatum. “This is a great chance for families to take advantage of safety services that sometimes get put off or forgotten.”

The event is noon to 3 p.m. at the club, 450 S. Sunrise Way.
