Family business plans to bounce back after blaze

“I was sad, our business takes a few years to get to where you’re at and then the fire just takes everything,” says Ruben Gonzales, co-owner of JR Graphics.

JR Graphics was one of three businesses destroyed by a fire early Friday morning.

The businesses were part of a large commercial auto repair shop which caught fire at 3:30 a.m., along the 83200 block of Indio Boulevard near Requa Avenue.

“We have a lot of damage up stairs, we have like burned shirts, machines, our silk screen machine is burned,” says Vincente Gonzales, co-owner of JR Graphics.

“Our neighbors got a lot more of the damage it’s pretty bad in there they got the complete damage so it’s pretty bad,” says Vincent Gonzales.

The family has another location in Indio and can move their operation there.

“We do have a second location so anyone who has orders here with us they can pick them up at our location on Jackson and 111,” says Ruben Gonzales.

One firefighter was injured. He was treated by medics and transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say an investigation was underway into the fire’s cause.

They provided no word on a cause or damage estimate.
