Swearing-in ceremony set for new Riverside County District Attorney

Michael Hestrin will be sworn in as Riverside County District Attorney at a public ceremony on Monday, January 5 in front of the Historic Riverside Courthouse, located at 4050 Main Street in Riverside.

Veteran homicide prosecutor Mike Hestrin bested his boss — Riverside County District Attorney Paul Zellerbach — by nearly 10 percentage points in the June Primary Election.

Zellerbach was the D.A. for Riverside County since January 2011.

The swearing-in ceremony begins at 4 p.m. Officials said Main Street will be closed between 10th Street and 11th Street starting at 3 p.m.

The Oath of Office will be administered by the Honorable Thomas E. Hollenhorst and keynote remarks will be made by retired Riverside County District Attorney Grover Trask, according to officials.

Local, county and state dignitaries will be at the ceremony.
