Man Shot in Desert Hot Springs

A man has been shot in Desert Hot Springs. The shooting happened around 3:30 Friday afternoon in the area of Little Morongo Road and Two Bunch Palms Trail.

Desert Hot Springs Police tells us that a 38 year old man walking his dog was approached by a pitbull. The man tried to shoot the pitbull.

The owner of the pitbull came outside and the suspect shot the dog’s owner in the head.

The victim received a graze wound to the head and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was taken into custody.

DHS Police with assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department continued to search through the desert to find the gun that was used.
