Known gang member to go before a judge today
A known gang member will go before a judge today after an altercation with police.
Officers with the Coachella Valley violent crime gang task force responded to a disturbance at a home on the 52000 block of Calle Avila in Coachella.
Armando Arevalos, 39, came out carrying a large knife, threatening to kill officers.
Police eventually took him into custody.
After searching the home, they found a shotgun inside.
Arevalos is booked on several charges including being a felon in possession of a firearm.
He remains in custody without bail.
