Early morning Palm Springs house fire
A fire at a vacant house caused quite a scare in a Palm Springs neighborhood.
It happened around 1:30 Saturday morning on the 200 west block of Merito Place.
The vacant home is in the old Las Palms community near the intersection of Prescott Drive.
Police knocked on neighbors doors to alert them to the fire.
“Came out and it was just the flames leaping to the sky and the palm trees were on fire and the house was on fire and we were worried that our house was going to get hit by the embers,” said neighbor Megan Abbott.
No one was hurt. The fire is under investigation.
