Indio building catches fire again, roof collapses

An Indio building caught on fire early Sunday morning, according to CalFire’s Jennifer Fuhrman.

The fire started just after midnight on the 83500 block of Indio Blvd., in the same, now vacant, building that caught fire in December, damaging JJ Battery, JR Graphics, and Absolute Quality Autobody.

The roof collapsed in the 25,000 square-foot structure, Fuhrman says.

It took 34 firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There are no injuries.
